By Thomas Nettles
Thomas Nettles writes with proficiency and accuracy on the doctrines of grace in the baptist denomination. He looks at the doctrine from an historical view through its defenders, a theological view through the Scripture, and a practical study through its affect on other doctrines. This book is a hard read for a person who has not started the study of soteriology. I would recommend this book to any person wanting to understand the heritage behind the Calvinist belief system. I would not recommend this to the average reader.
About Author:
Dr. Thomas Nettles is regarded as the foremost authority on the history of Baptist historian in America. He is currently a Professor of Church history at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Among his books are: Baptist and the Bible, Why I am a Baptist, A Southern Baptist Statesmen.
